Boyce Branch

During World War II, the Boyce Branch of the Rapides Parish Library System opened to serve the communities of Boyce, Rapides Station, Hot Wells, Cotile, Gardner, Wilda, Lena, Flatwoods, and Chopin. At that time the library was located in the Fire Station Building and served many customers, including soldiers stationed at Fort Polk. Among those who used the Boyce Branch during this period were General George Patton and General Dwight D. Eisenhower, both of whom used the branch while stationed at Fort Polk.

Today, the library still serves the same communities, but they now do it from a more substantial building. In 1996, the Boyce Branch moved from the J. E. Johnson building into a new rental facility on Ulster Street.

Programs

Summer Reading Program

Each year the Boyce Branch hosts a Summer Reading Program for children and teens. The program provides area youth with library materials and reading activities.

Preschool Storytime

Thursdays 10:00 AM - 10:30 AM.

Craft Workshops

For adults the library offers craft workshops that are scheduled periodically.
