Enter the NEW Louisiana Interlibrary Loan System Catalog
Beginning Monday March 10th, 2008, the Interlibrary Loan System will be changing to a new system. This requires us to change your user information. While updating user accounts for the Loan Shark system, we are also weeding out duplicate and inactive accounts. The instructions below are for the new system and will be inacurate until the change takes place. Because of the change the current system will no longer be accessible to you after 5:00 PM Friday March 7th.
This is a catalog of all public libraries in Louisiana, as well as the State Library of Louisiana.
If you have searched the Rapides Parish Library catalog and had no luck, you may search here for your title.
If you are already an Interlibrary Loan user at the Rapides Parish Library, you may already be in the system. If we have set up a user account for you, your username is your library card number (right below the barcode), and your password is your first and last name typed as one word in all lowercase (e.g. if your name is John Doe, your new password will be johndoe ), even if you had a different password before March 7th after March 7th this is your password. Remember to use lower case.If you cannot successfully log in, please call the Loans Department at 318-445-2411 x220 during regular business hours.
Once you enter the catalog, you may search for your title by Author, Title, Keyword or Subject. When you find what you want, just click on the button marked "Request this item." In the next window you only need to fill in your name ( Last name, Firstname) in the patron info section and your pick-up location.
If you do not find the title that you want, close the Louisiana Interlibrary Loan System Catalog, and click on the button labeled BORROW Outside Louisiana, below the SEARCH the Rapides Parish Library Catalog button on the first page. Here, you can enter the information on the title you want, as well as your name, barcode and PIN. Rapides Parish Library staff will then try to find your title throughout the United States.
