The Gunter Branch of the Rapides Parish Library System opened its doors in 1983, and since 1992 has circulated its collection on a computerized system.
     Today the library's monthly circulation exceeds 10,000. The Gunter Branch serves customers in Pineville, Tioga, Deville, Libuse, and Kolin. They also service several schools including Buckeye High School, Hayden R. Lawrence Middle School, Buckeye Elementary, J. I. Barron, Sr. Elementary, and Ruby-Wise Elementary.
As a special service for pre-school and elementary children, the Gunter Branch now offers storytime and craft activities. If you know a child who might enjoy participating in storytime or crafts, give the librarians at the Gunter Branch a call. They would be glad to discuss program scheduling with you.

Tween's Club

The Gunter Tween's Book Club will meet the 1st Monday of each month beginning in April, 2008, at 5:30 P.M. For more information or to join call Ms. Brenda at (318) 443-7259.

Classic Book Club

This book group reads the Classics and they meet the 4th Tuesday of each month at 6:30 PM. We are looking for more members!

Adult Book Club

This book group reads for fun.  They meet the 3rd Thursday of each month at 6:30 PM.  They are also looking for more members!
