Outreach Services aims to provide informational services, community relations, and delivery services to Rapides Parish citizens outside of the traditional library setting. When you can\u2019t come to the library, we bring the library to you! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Outreach staff are available to provide informational services to public schools, private and parochial schools, special needs organizations, book clubs, colleges and adult learning institutions, community clubs, organizations, and more. Visits may include book talks, research talks, or resource and service talks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
If your school, organization, or club is interested in obtaining any type of informational service from the Outreach Department, please contact Karla Kirby at 318-442-2483 x 1906.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Staff of the Outreach Department often attend community events and activities to inform and demonstrate library resources, services, and programs available to the people of Rapides Parish. <\/p>\n\n\n\n If you would like for the Outreach Department to attend your community event or activity, please contact Karla Kirby at 318-442-2483 x 1906.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Outreach provides delivery services to customers who are unable to visit the library using the Bookmobile and Homebound deliveries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Bookmobile serves rural areas, nursing homes, senior citizens\u2019 centers, adult day care centers, rehabilitation centers, retirement centers, and schools. It maintains a collection of large print books and audio books as well as other educational and informational materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Bookmobile\u2019s current schedule can be found on the events calendar<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Homebound deliveries serves residents who are unable to come to the library. For many, it\u2019s like having your own personal librarian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you feel that the Bookmobile or Homebound Delivery Service might be right for you, please contact Londa Price at (318) 445-2411 x 1066. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Preschool Outreach Plus delivers themed materials to supplement daycare and Head Start programs within Rapides Parish.
