At that time the library was located in the Fire Station Building and served many customers, including soldiers stationed at Fort Polk. Among those who used the Boyce Branch during this period were General George Patton and General Dwight D. Eisenhower, both of whom used the branch while stationed at Fort Polk.<br> <br>Today, the library still serves the same communities, but they now do it from a more substantial building. In 1996, the Boyce Branch moved from the J. E. Johnson building into a new rental facility on Ulster Street and more recently moved into a new location built on land donated by the Alfred Boyce Wettermark family on Haywood B.
